In summer, go explore the routes first.

5. Pingtan’s main attractions

Pingtan is a beautiful place. Ever since Pingtan was listed as a national scenic spot in the 1990s, I have always wanted to go there. However, the road is far away, and it is not far at all. However, the transportation is inconvenient and I need to charter a car, so I have never been able to include it in my list. A short-term destination. Until my wife mentioned Pingtan again in the summer, I did my homework and found that the 2-day route was still possible there, so I started asking for directions from all directions and tried the possibility of chartering a car. Seeing that there are still many students who like this route, we decided to organize this event.

Pingtan is known as the “Thousand Reef Island County”. There are 126 named islands and 702 rocks in the county. The wide sea area is connected to the open ocean and is dotted with numerous islands and reefs, giving the island naturally beautiful and charming sea scenery.

Good attractions:

There are Shipaiyang, Longfengtou, Xianrenjing, and Haitan Ancient Town. The most important thing is to see the sea and the sand. However, it is recommended to go in summer, as winter is cold and windy.

Pingtan Island Scenic Area

Banyang Shifan was formerly known as Shibeiyang. Looking at the sea more than 500 meters west of Aocun in the northwest of Pingtan Island, you can see a large disc-shaped reef from a distance, supporting two stele-shaped sea stacks, one high and one low. The whole reef is like a big ship, and the two huge rocks are like two bulging sails, seeming to be riding the wind and waves. This is the most famous natural landscape in Pingtan – Shipaiyang. Also known as “Half Ocean Stone Sail” and “Double Sail Stone”.

It is recognized as the only semi-oceanic stone sail in China that stands on the sea.

Take a ferry from the shore of Kanao Village and reach the reef in ten minutes. The bottom of the reef is a group of flat and complete rocks. The two stone pillars are made of coarse-grained off-white granite. The one on the east side is 33 meters high, 9 meters wide at the chest, and 8 meters thick; the one on the west side is 17 meters high, 15 meters wide at the chest, and 8 meters thick. The bases of the two stone pillars are approximately square and stand upright on the reef. According to geologists’ research, it is the largest granite spherical weathered sea stack in the world. Because of its uniqueness and magnificence, it has a strong shock and attraction to tourists. Experts from the Ministry of Construction and the Chinese Academy of Sciences called it “a monopolistic world-class tourism resource.” Chen Di, a traveler in the Ming Dynasty, once praised it as “a wonder of the world.” Lin Shuzhen, a female poet in the Qing Dynasty, praised it in her poem: “We all talk about the boat of the emperor of the previous dynasty. The two sails occasionally took advantage of this sentence to stay; because of the troubled times and the dangers, one moored today and the cable will not be taken in.”

Corresponding to the half-ocean stone sail, on the seaside of Kanao Village, due to seawater erosion and natural weathering, the granite on the rock wall has weathered, forming a Maitreya Buddha statue with a bald head and a protruding belly. The stone statue sits cross-legged with its knees bent. It is 12 meters tall and 12 meters wide at the shoulders. The head, body, hands and feet are fully visible. The image is vivid and looks like a semi-relief. There is a brown-yellow igneous rock vein surrounding the Buddha’s body, just like a golden “hada” dedicated to the Buddha statue. It is also a natural coincidence and a good thing. In addition, there are many natural sea erosion landscapes here, such as two kissing turtles, frogs, etc.

The God of the Sea Altar and the Banyang Stone Sail complement each other well and are the God of the Sea Altar at the southern end of Pingyuan. The God of the Sea Altar is a huge stone that looks like a naked man, lying on his back in the sea. The stone body is 330 meters long and 150 meters wide. The stone man’s head is resting on the golden beach, his feet are stretched out into the blue waves of the East China Sea, and his hands are straight beside him. In the middle is a high bulging belly. Because the local people didn’t know the cause of its formation, they called it “Haitan God”. In fact, it was formed by the erosion of granite bodies by sea water for millions of years.

Haitan Tianshen is one of the “double wonders” of Pingtan Island’s unique rocks (the other is Shipaiyang). It is located in the South China Sea in Nanzhong Village, Tangyu, Nanhai Township. The Tianshen’s head rests on the beach and his feet stretch into the South China Sea. It is 330 meters long and 150 meters wide. The chest is 36 meters high, the head is 33 meters long, the head is 35 meters wide, the head is 31 meters high, and the neck is 18.3 meters long. The lower body is tilted into a columnar weathered rock mass with male characteristics. It is 4.15 meters high and 4.50 meters in circumference. It is a fisherman from the surrounding area. Women worship the object from generation to generation. According to legend, as long as they touch this object, they can give birth to a fat boy. The whole body is made of granite spherical weathered shapes. Such a huge spherical weathered shape is rare in the world and unique in the world.

The best thing is that you can actually see many interesting sights on the Goddess of the Sea Altar, such as the male feature that looks like an upside-down boot when viewed up close. The natural sea erosion cracks surrounding the god’s body are like the Great Wall. In the middle of the body, there are many cylindrical stones of different sizes, almost pure cylinders, as if the pillars of heaven were broken and scattered in the world. There are so many more.

East China Sea Fairyland (Fairyland) Fairyland is located at the southern foot of Wangye Mountain. The “Fairyland” includes Fairy Valley, Fairy Well, Fairy Spring, Fairy Gorge, etc. Among them, Fairy Well is the most spectacular scene, with a depth of 37 meters and a diameter of 33 meters. meters, the walls of the well are cliffs, and there are three small holes at the bottom that are connected to the sea, and small boats can go in and out of them. Whenever the tide rises, the thunderous waves and tsunami in the well are earth-shattering and very spectacular. Next to the “Immortal Well” there is a large canyon that looks like a split in the middle of the mountain, which is called the Immortal Valley.

Outside the valley is the vast sea, with a small cave on the side connected to the Immortal Well. When the tide is not high, visitors can enter the well along the rock wall. The bottom of the well is covered with round pebbles, which are naturally formed by seawater erosion. At this time, if one looks at the bottom of the well from the mouth of the “well”, the rock walls are steep and mottled, and the people at the bottom of the well look like young ants. The person looking at the well feels weak in the bottom of his heart, his head is spinning, and he hastily withdraws due to fear of acrophobia. If you are at the bottom of the well, you sit up and look at the sky. The waves are rushing down below your feet, and the sound of the waves is accompanied by the waves kissing the rocks and flying snow. Facing the strange appearance of the mottled and peeling giant rocks, people can’t help but sigh at the magic of the sea and the vicissitudes of time.

Swim at Longfengtou (Longfengtou) Beach Bathing Beach. The bathing beach is located in the south corner of Pingtan Island, 1.5 kilometers away from Chengguan. The beach is 500 meters wide, 9.5 kilometers long, and has a slope of only 2.2 degrees. It is one of the largest bathing beaches in the country. The sand is crystal clear and white, dotted with islands and reefs, and backed by dense forests. You can drive and walk on the beach, and you can swim and have fun in the sea. It is a must-visit destination for tourists who like swimming. Compared with some beaches in other places, the beach on Pingtan Island has one of the biggest features, that is, the sand is so fine that you can lie down on it without any discomfort. The sand is also very white. Compared with some beaches in other places that are exposed to the sun, the beach on Pingtan Island has one of the biggest features, that is, the sand is so fine that you can lie down on it without any discomfort. The sand is also very white. The sand on the shore that has been dried by the sun is almost milky white, which is very beautiful. In addition, the beach on Pingtan Island is very gentle and extremely open, and is also suitable for recreational activities such as beach volleyball and Frisbee throwing. The Longfengtou Bathhouse faces the east and is a very suitable place to watch the sunrise over the sea. You can come as early as 4 o’clock in the morning, or you can simply rent a tent for tens of yuan at night, have a cup of tea with your friends, and stay up all night, waiting for that beautiful and spectacular moment.

6. Pingtan’s famous attractions

Pingliuwei and Pingtan Island are both very good tourist attractions. In comparison, Pingtan Island has better attractions.

Pingtan Island, also known as Haitan Island, is located in Pingtan County, Fuzhou City, Fujian Province. It is the fifth largest island in my country and the closest place to Taiwan from the mainland. The terrain of Pingtan Island is low and flat, with the middle part slightly higher, and the highest altitude is 434 meters.
